The Experience
Kapha energy is stable, nurturing, and calm - the quiet presence that holds everything together. But when out of balance, Kapha can become stagnant, heavy, and resistant to change.
The Kapha Room offers the perfect counterbalance. Located on the second floor in the Feng Shui west zone (same as Pitta), placing Kapha upstairs adds lightness to its naturally heavy energy. The metal element here stimulates movement and clarity, helping Kapha avoid stagnation and embrace joyful flow.
Intention: "I invite lightness, flow, and joyful energy into my being."

Infinity Pool
The heart of the villa, our living room is a place to gather, unwind, and simply be. Framed by uninterrupted views across Koggala Lake and opening directly onto the infinity pool, it invites the outdoors in, creating a seamless connection between nature and home.
A generous lounge sofa provides the perfect place to relax, enjoy meaningful conversations, or simply watch the changing light dance across the lake.
For those seeking a quiet evening indoors, a Smart TV is also available for entertainment. Thoughtfully curated artwork, handcrafted Sri Lankan objects, and natural textures reflect the island's rich heritage while complementing the villa's Dutch Colonial and Wabi Sabi design philosophy.
Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee, sharing stories with loved ones, watching the sunset over the lake, or relaxing with a movie, this is a space designed to slow you down, reconnect, and feel at home.

Our fully equipped kitchen has been thoughtfully designed for both everyday living and memorable shared meals.

Adjacent to the infinity pool, a poolside sun bench provides the perfect place to stretch out, soak up the tropical sunshine, or simply relax while taking in the tranquil lake views. Elegant Dutch Colonial-style lounge chairs invite you to sip a cup of Ceylon tea, read a book, enjoy an afternoon nap, or unwind beside the water.

Located at the heart of the first floor, the Moon Lounge is a quiet sanctuary dedicated to rest, reflection, and gentle contemplation. Bathed in the soft light of the morning sunrise and warmed by the golden glow of the afternoon sunset, the space transforms once again in the evening, when the moon rises over Koggala Lake and fills the room with a quiet sense of wonder.
Whether you're reading a book, journalling, listening to soothing music, or simply daydreaming as the lake breeze drifts through, this is a place where time naturally slows.
A comfortable daybed, carefully curated books and magazines, soft floor cushions, and natural fibre rugs create an inviting space for quiet afternoons, gentle yoga, meditation, or simply being still. Every element has been thoughtfully chosen to encourage moments of presence and reconnection.
Each evening, we invite guests to join our complimentary sunset meditation. On fine days, the practice is held on our private lakeside pier as the sun sets over Koggala Lake. During rainy weather, the Moon Lounge becomes our indoor meditation space, offering the same sense of calm while overlooking the changing skies and tranquil waters beyond.
Whether you arrive with a journal, a favourite book, or simply an open heart, the Moon Lounge offers a quiet invitation to pause, breathe, reconnect, and simply be.
Perfect for: Sunrise yoga flows, afternoon reading rituals, evening journaling, or simply sitting still with the lake breeze.

At Soul Moon Retreat, stillness is not something you need to search for - it naturally unfolds in the spaces around you. Nestled within the gardens is a quiet meditation area, thoughtfully created for moments of reflection, mindfulness, yoga, or simply sitting in the presence of nature.
Surrounded by tropical greenery, birdsong, and the gentle rhythms of Koggala Lake, the garden invites you to slow down and reconnect with yourself. Whether you begin your morning with meditation, practise gentle movement, or pause to watch the changing light through the trees, this is a space where the mind can settle and the body can soften.
Just beyond the meditation space, a stone labyrinth winds through the garden beside the Buddha statue, offering an opportunity for contemplative walking. Unlike a maze, there is no right or wrong path - only a single journey inward and outward. Walking the labyrinth slowly and mindfully can become a moving meditation, inviting presence, clarity, and quiet reflection with every step.
Guests are also invited to walk barefoot on the natural stone labyrinth as a gentle reflexology experience. While not a medical treatment, many people find that walking mindfully across the textured stones provides a soothing stimulation of the feet's reflex points, helping to encourage circulation, awaken the body's natural energy, and cultivate a greater sense of grounding and vitality.
Extending from the garden is our private lakeside pier, where we offer a complimentary daily sunset meditation as part of your stay. As the sun sets over the tranquil waters of Koggala Lake, you are invited to breathe deeply, unwind, and embrace the quiet transition from day to evening. Stay a little longer to witness the moon rising above the lake - a gentle reminder of nature's ever-changing rhythms and the inspiration behind Soul Moon Retreat.
Whether seated in stillness, walking the labyrinth, or gazing across the lake from the pier, these spaces invite you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and discover the quiet wholeness that emerges when you simply allow yourself to be.
Perfect for: Morning meditation among the greenery, mindful labyrinth walks at golden hour, sunset stillness on the lakeside pier, or barefoot grounding beneath the changing sky.
